Blue Monday at Cheddar Library

Post-Christmas bills come home to roost with “Blue Monday”

A free lunchtime session, “Beat The Blues” is being offered at Cheddar Library to help people combat the effects of “Blue Monday”, 19th January, so named as it is thought to be brought about by the arrival of the post-Christmas bills. Sarena Mason Cert.Ed CCMHP, is offering insights into Positive Psychology which can lift mood naturally combined with relaxation techniques, to help people manage stress more effectively. Cheddar Library will have a display of books and information relating to well-being and financial advice – ‘Beat The Squeeze’.

“Financial worries can put a big strain on people, and taking some time to learn simple ways of managing stress, including relaxation techniques, can put things into a better perspective,” explains Sarena. “Some of the positive psychology tips I will be giving relate to decision making – which means people can recognise they have choices, and by taking action can help them feel more in control.”

The free “Beat The Blues” session will run from 12.15 – 12.45 at the Cheddar Library in Union Street, (just turn up) and the display will be available for the week.
